Can you achieve perfect communication?
Illusion of Communication is an interactive art project that includes various types of artworks. Users can participate in each of these parts to experience unique communication.

“Hand to Hand” is an interactive installation inspired by the historical events of the Baltic Chain and the Singing Revolution in Estonia.

The work invites participants to hold onto sculpted hand grips, and when two users hold hands, the installation triggers both music from the Singing Revolution and a light display. If users are not holding hands, the grips produce ambient sounds recorded in Narva, such as natural sounds, spoken voices, or brief snippets of traditional folk songs.

The piece was installed at Narva University, encouraging younger generations to reflect on the Baltic Chain and the significance of peaceful protests. The work draws parallels with Korea’s resistance movements, such as the March 1st Movement and Candlelight Protests, creating a space for users to physically connect and reflect on shared histories of nonviolent resistance.
